Global SMT & Packaging magazine is proud to announce
the 2008 Global Technology Awards. Entries are now open. The deadline
for entering May 31, 2008. Five new categories have been added for
2008: flux, ID systems, placement equipment - high volume, placement equipment
- low/medium volume, and selective soldering.
The Global Technology Awards recognize the very best new innovations in the printed circuit assembly and packaging industries.
Global SMT & Packaging invites entries from all equipment, materials and EMS companies. The competition is open to organizations of all sizes. Entries will be judged by an independent panel based on the following criteria:
- Innovation
- Speed/throughput improvements
- Quality contribution
- Cost benefits
- Environmental consideration
- Ease of use/implementation
- Maintainability/repairability

Winning companies receive a prestigious crystal award at the awards ceremony to be held at SMTA International in August 2008. They also benefit from
- Follow up publicity in Global SMT & Packaging
- Award winner's logo for use in their marketing materials
- A brief write-up and photo of their winning product or service on the awards official site and the Global SMT & Packaging website. (Both write-ups include a link back to your website, which is a great benefit for your search engine ranking efforts.)

Companies can enter as many categories as they wish.
