As the first process step in an SMT production line, solder paste printing is of key importance.  Errors here can lead to costly repairs if they’re not caught before the product moves up the line. Yet according to current studies, only 20% of SMT production lines have implemented 100% post-print inspection. However, 100% post-print inspection with traditional methods comes with high time and labour costs. New technologies are needed to make 100% post-print inspection viable for the average manufacturer in order to keep competitive in a highly competitive industry.
