The demands placed on manufacturers in the electronics sector are changing continually. This calls for both an adjustment of the machines as well as the supporting software. JUKI takes the feedback it receives from its customers very seriously, accordingly, future versions of the software will be expanded with the addition of a number of new functions in a number of areas. It is one of the goals of JUKI to adapt both its mounters and software to the latest production trends. The aim is to guarantee high process reliability, as well as easy to use hard and software.
Preview of a few of the forthcoming new software modules soon to be launched by JUKI.
MSL module
As soon as moisture sensitive components are introduced into the production process, they need to be identified and traced to ensure that the time for their allocation is not exceeded. This can be guaranteed by entering a number of different parameters into the system to monitor the MS level and temperature of both the components and the production environment.
Main features of the module
• Based on the standards J-STD-033B and J-STD-020B for lead-free production
• Calculation of the time and date conducted automatically
• Indication of the component, the location and the status in real time
• List of all MSD components in feeders, mounters, oven and dry cabinets in real time
• Warnings/alarms displayed automatically
Production banner
Do you need to maintain an overview of the status of the entire production process? No problem with the new production banner. The information can be displayed on a PC, or additionally, on a large screen situated in the office or on the factory floor.
Depending on the task, the banner can, for example, display the current throughput of the individual products, providing information for the manager. The status of each individual assembly line and its battery of machines are indicated by means of different color codes. Thus, at a glance, it is possible to identify which assembly lines are operating according to specification, where there are problems or where they could arise.
On the factory floor each product and any respective feeder bottlenecks can be displayed. This makes it easier for the operator to see where the next component shortage will occur. It is no longer necessary for the operator to consult the individual machines, instead the information on all the machines is displayed on one screen.
The corresponding information is also transmitted to the feeder setup station. This ensures that the appropriate components are taken out of storage and that the feeders are prepared, all in good time.
This software module is specifically designed to reduce machine downtime to a minimum.
Equipment Manager
In order to guarantee an uninterrupted process, production equipment must be in impeccable condition.
Here the Equipment Manager comes into action, monitoring the individual items of equipment according to the specifications of the service personnel.
In the case of feeders it is essential that the corresponding maintenance work is carried out correctly. Only correctly serviced feeders ensure that components are conveyed faultlessly. In combination with the RFID technology, as employed with the IFS-XS, it is possible to distinguish between the different feeders. This enables the service team to define a maintenance cycle for each individual feeder. In order to ensure that maintenance is always conducted according to the same guidelines it is also possible to file the appropriate maintenance documents. With the assistance of the Log file every element replaced can be itemised. The operator also has the option of examining a photograph of each damaged part via a link.
Naturally, this function is not just restricted to the feeders, it can be extended to:
• Trolleys
• Mounters
On Demand Production
When a circuit board enters a machine the circuit board bar code is read and the corresponding placement program is loaded. This function is of great assistance in selecting the correct placement program, especially when fitting components to different circuit board versions. This ensures that the correct program is selected for each respective product.
The functions described in this brief preview are just a few of the new software modules which will be shortly released. Information on the availability of the software will be provided here in the near future.
