IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries® announces Designers Day - Canada 2009, a full-day design conference offering technical education focusing on real-world applications of advanced technologies and solutions to today’s design challenges and offering enhanced networking opportunities. Hosted by Seneca College of Toronto and sponsored by the IPC Designers Council, Designers Day will be held June 10, followed by designer certification workshops on June 11-13.

“This program offers participants a direct return on their investment … the presentations by key industry veterans will be in-depth, interactive and immediately applicable,” comments Greg Bordash, president of the Toronto chapter of the Designers Council and senior PCB designer for Evertz Microsystems, Ltd.

Focusing on the consumer products, military/aerospace, industrial and medical market sectors, the conference will cover topics of current relevance to PCB layout designers, electrical engineers, CAD librarians and electronics industry managers including HDI-Microvia manufacturing, routing techniques and PCB layout for signal integrity. The line-up of prominent speakers includes: Gareth Parry, chief technology officer, Coretec Inc.; Wayne Pulliam, PCB interconnect architect, AMD; Susy Webb, senior PCB designer, Fairfield Industries; and Dieter Bergman, IPC director of technology transfer.

“We realize that in today’s challenging economy, many corporate budgets have been trimmed, so we’ve structured this event to give designers an intense, full-day of critical education for a significantly reduced fee,” said Bordash. Designers Day - Canada 2009 is priced at $100 (US) for IPC members and Designers Council participants and $150 (US) for nonmembers. The new “Bring a Colleague” special offer provides even greater value, allowing registrants to reach out to colleagues and invite a customer, co-worker or associate to attend for half the fee. “Our chapter is pleased to sponsor this valuable educational and networking event,” adds Bordash.

For additional information regarding the technical conference, designer certification programs or to register, visit www.ipc.org/designers-day-canada or contact Anne Marie Mulvihill, IPC professional development program manager, at AnneMarieMulvihill@ipc.org or +1 847-597-2827.
