The BALVER ZINN Group, a leading provider of high-quality alloyed solder anodes, as well as special cored and solid wires is pleased to announce the promotion of Thomas Kolossa to the position of Sales Manager for the important regions of Europe, Africa and Russia. 

The position will cover both the Balver Zinn and Cobar divisions for the Balver Zinn Group.  Thomas Kolossa comes from a highly trained background in mechanical engineering. At 39 years old he is married with two children and has played an important part in the success of the Balver Zinn Group business since 2001.  Kolossa was formerly a Project Manager for a company where his mechanical engineering expertise was used in robotics and the automation of production processes. Following which he became Production Manager for a plastic-metalworking enterprise.

In 2001 he joined the Balver Zinn Group as Manager of the Technical Department, first for Balver Zinn and then for its sister organization Cobar. His main focus at the time was the change from SnPb solder to lead-free, an important move in the company’s long history of innovation.

Balver Zinn Group’s Managing Director, Josef Jost, explains this promotion: “Thomas joined the Balver Zinn family bringing with him a great deal of expertise to offer our business. Since then his growing depth of knowledge of the Balver Zinn Group’s business and his willingness to support our efforts with our customers has earned him this very important position within the company.  He has already demonstrated that this was the right move forward for him.”
