ZESTRON has recently introduced the Coating Reliabilty Test (CoRe Test), a fast and cost-effective testing method for conformal coating. The CoRe Test is specially aimed at the development phase of the PCB
production. Prior to its debut, conformal coating testing has been time
consuming and expensive at this stage. While previous test methods took
up to six months, the CoRe Test can be completed in less than 10 hours.
Due to this it offers a significant advantage compared to the lifetime
test.
Based on the water stress method, the CoRe Test is a point-of-weakness
analysis test that simulates an electronic assemblys maximum lifetime
exposure.
The CoRe Test is designed to detect defects in coating layers and
insufficient adhesion of coating, which may lead to electrochemical
migration, delamination of coating and leakage currents. Further
