The new stencil solves common problems caused by traditional emulsion screens, such as non-uniform printing, limited precision or short screen life. The VecoDual stencil is built up from pure hard nickel by means of a two layer electroforming process. Alignment of the two layers is perfect, custom-made for this specific stencil. With emulsion screens, a random alignment of mesh and product definition is always the case; therefore good uniformity or small print definition can never be obtained. The custom-designed grid layer of a VecoDual stencil, however, results in a 100 % controlled open area over all the patterns.
