OK International has launched its new, compact, PS-800E High Power Production Soldering System, introducing manufacturers to a new concept in reliable and repeatable lead-free hand soldering.
Specifically designed to meet the challenges of repetitive manual soldering and precision touch-up, the PS-800E delivers enhanced thermal performance without resorting to increased tip idle temperatures. Characterised by an innovative power coil assembly, advanced tip geometry and an extended easy access tip range, the PS-800E features a larger conductive area for more efficient thermal energy transfer.
PS-800E deploys the advanced control technology found in all of the company’s soldering station solutions, combining this with the benefits of easy access SmartHeat® PowerTips™ to offer a reliable, repeatable and safe mainstream market tool at a fiercely competitive price.
“The launch of the PS-800E is good news for manufacturers currently coming to grips with the increased thermal demands of lead-free materials,” comments Tom Seratti, OKi VP Global Sales & Marketing. “The powerful combination of our new coil assembly and flexible tip geometries really sets the PS-800E apart from conventional soldering systems, guaranteeing process control in this critical area.”
A further advantage of the PS-800E is its Auto-sleep Workstand, engineered to eliminate the adverse effects of idle time on the tip-life of hand soldering tools. Research identifies that on average a soldering iron can spend 50% of its time fully powered but not in use. When placed in the new workstand tip idle temperature is automatically lowered, reducing the potential for oxidation and extending tip life. www.okinternational.com
