The Mini Reflow Solder System RSS from UniTemp GmbH was developed for the manufacturing of prototypes, process development and evaluation and small series or pre-series production. The system consists of a process chamber with external controller with a manual adjustable flow meter. The RSS system is an excellent tool for the development of various lead- and fluxless solder processes. Some applications are: voidfree soldering of chips and optoelectronic devices in housing or heat-sinks, encapsulation of housings, soldering of high power devices (IGBT) and MEMS packaging as well as other thermic applications and processes which requires a hermetical closed chamber with atmosphere (gas or vacuum).

Meanwhile we offer 4 different models: depending on the required solder area and the maximum temperature we do have one system with 110x110mm heated area and one system with 160x160mm heated area; both systems are available with either 350 °C or 450 °C maximum temperature.

The chamber is vacuum sealed and the process can be watched by a viewing window.

Up to 3 controlled gas lines for different gases (e.g. Nitrogen or Forming gas) are possible (one gas line is standard, optional available are more gas lines).

The system is equipped with a vacuum flange for attaching an external vacuum pump on customer request. The chamber is vacuum capable up to 10-3 mbar.

One key feature is the fast ramp-up (up to 120 °C/minute) and excellent cool down rate (up to 180° minute). The maximum temperature ranges from ambient up to 450 °C.

The controller allows the storage of one program with up to 16 steps. The programming is easy dpme by a RS-232 interface to a standard PC and the program can be upload from the PC to the controller. The enclosed UniSoft Software (WIN based) allows an easy programming and data monitoring.

This system is a low cost alternative to standard solder reflow ovens. The modular equipment offers an easy handling and carrying from one place to the other place. The chamber outer size is 240mmx200mmx150mm
(Model RSS-x50-110) or 290mmx150mmx220mm (Model RSS-x50-160) and the size of the external controller is 220mmx220 mmx125 mm.

Optional available: Formic Acid module, Hydrogen module with safety equipment, various vacuum pumps, closed loop water cooling system, etc. Other options and accessories on request.
