The theme of this years S2K event in Cardiff will be building a future through collaboration. Announcing the line up for this years event, Mike Smyth, Chairman of S2K, introduced a number of new ‘innovative’ features, including a collaborative workshop with the UKDL KTN (Knowledge transfer network). The conference and table top exhibition will be split into 2 sections/portions, one discussing ‘Shaping Technological advancement through collaboration’ and the second ‘Future developments within the micro/nano and plastic electronics industry’. A prestigious line up of professional speakers has been organised to support the theme of this years event, including International Rectifier, Qinetiq, Metryx and the Nanotechnology KTN.
The event will build upon the excellent start made in its new venue at Cardiff City Hall and the organisers, JEMI UK Ltd expect an even higher number of micro, nano and semiconductor professionals to attend the event.
New to this years’ event is a facilitative, debate which will be addressing one of the hot topics facing the industry; Sustaining long term return on investment in the development of niche markets'. Invited panel members to discuss each side of the debate include Plastic Logic, IQE, Marks and Clerk and SEMI.
Chairman of S2K, highlighted, “S2K will discuss the challenges of the UK fabrication and how to develop strong collaboration in the industry to meet them”.
The organisers are confident that the level of attendees at S2K will encourage a more proactive approach to the conference’s topics, namely shaping technological advancement and future developments and the use of the networking opportunities will be a step in the right direction to tackle some of the underlying issues within these sectors.
S2K 2008 will take place on the 8th and 9th of May and places are still available to attend.
