Yole Développement Webcast “MEMS Manufacturing evolution!” generates global audience of 570 people

Industry News

As yet another measure of the strong interest in MEMS technology, the recent webinar dedicated to MEMS manufacturing evolution hosted by I-Micronews.com, the Yole Développement Media website and co-organized with MEMS Industry Group, had over 570 registered participants from 37 countries around the world.  Over the past decade MEMS has become a highly dynamic business delivering mission critical value adding functionality to hundreds of products that touch every consumer in the world.  Now regarded as an  “adjacent” technology by many in the much larger semiconductor space, there is a huge and very diverse interest from a bevy of players looking to understand and benefit from the current boom.

Dr. Eric Mounier, a lead MEMS Analyst at Yole Développement, gave a detailed overview of MEMS Manufacturing and more importantly his view of where it is heading. His presentation is packed full of information including the history of MEMS manufacturing and real product examples showing the challenges facing MEMS manufacturing. Dr. Mounier’s presentation was based on the newest report released by the Yole Développement team, titled , MEMS Manufacturing & Packaging. This report analyzes the main MEMS manufacturing evolution. “With this report, our aim is to provide understanding of current challenges of MEMS manufacturing, packaging & materials. For each MEMS manufacturing step, bottlenecks and challenges are highlighted”, explained Dr. Eric Mounier, Project Manager at Yole Développement.

“More than simply providing information on the high-tech industry, through the webcast programs we offer across all the industries we serve we seek to foster professional exchanges and industry development. The success of this MEMS event is just one example. As we continue expanding these programs, we welcome the participation of our highly targeted worldwide audience.” says J.C. Eloy, President & CEO, Yole Développement.

"MEMS Industry Group (MIG) is pleased to have been a part of this successful event - which is one of a series of webinars that we co-host with MIG members and partners  in our MEMS Education Series (www.memseducationseries.com). As MIG strives to meet its mission of advancing MEMS across global markets, spreading the good news about MEMS is critical - we look forward to participating in future webinars with Yole Développement,"states Karen Lightman, managing director, MEMS Industry Group (www.memsindustrygroup.org).

The recording of this webcast is still available for viewing , just go to View Webcast.  All registrants can download the slide presentation and more details about the new  MEMS Manufacturing Report!
