Pamela J. Gordon, author, keynoter, and president of Technology Forecasters Inc. (TFI), was awarded the Sustainability Summit Electronics Day Community Award at Electronics Day, held at the Productronica Trade Fair, Munich, Germany, November 17, 2011.

The Electronics Day Community Award is given in recognition of "the person who has most generously dedicated time and effort to support the development of a legacy of environmental stewardship in the [electronics] industry."
Ms. Gordon was nominated "for realizing early on that environmental responsibility can lead to efficiencies and savings in the workplace and for disseminating this knowledge throughout the electronics industry and beyond." Gordon's groundbreaking 2001 book, Lean and Green: Profit for Your Workplace and the Environment, profiled 17 electronics companies making environmental strides and has been required reading at the University of California and several other universities. Since 1987, her company has helped technology companies create more efficient supply chains and reduce environmental impact for increased profitability. Her insights on environmental sustainability and the electronics industry have appeared in nearly 1,000 articles, she has been interviewed on numerous television and radio programs, and she is an international keynote speaker.

Of receiving the award, Gordon said, "I am truly grateful for this opportunity and will continue to strive to strengthen the industry's health and sustainability for the rest of my career.  Please join me."
The Sustainability Summit's Electronics Day awards are sponsored by the Sustainable Electronics Manufacturing (SEM) Working Group.
