As a special promotion at IPC APEX 2012, visitors to the Vitronics Soltec booth had an opportunity to view the company’s new YouTube channel and enter into a drawing to win an iPad. The YouTube channel was accessible at the booth through a QR code, which is scannable by any mobile device that can download a “Scan” app. The promotion continued after the show, which closed March 1st, until the drawing on July 1, 2012.

Vi TECHNOLOGY announced the presentation of its highest agent honor, the American Representative Challenge Award, to Macon, Vi TECHNOLOGY’s sales representative for Argentina. The award was presented during the IPC APEX exhibition in San Diego, CA.

 During the two-day hand soldering competition, numerous companies competed to build a functional electronics assembly in 30 minutes. Assemblies were judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610E Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of assembly. IPC-A-610E Master Instructors served as the judges.

The company asked show attendees to wear “Ask Christopher” branded stickers, and some of those who sported their sticker all day received a handsome reward! Late in the day, Christopher Associates Consulting Engineer (and Shea Engineering Services President) Chrys Shea randomly chose sticker-wearers, handing them a Willy Wonka style Golden Ticket redeemable at Christopher’s booth for a crisp $50 bill.

The electronic interconnect industry came together at IPC APEX EXPO® last week in San Diego, with the show reporting a 26 percent increase in attendance over 2011 with 4,915 conference and exhibit hall attendees. IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® reported that 407 exhibitors participated in the event, resulting in 8,963 total visitors.
