Componex Nepcon revered its position as the leading trade show in India
Reed Exhibitions India’s 15th edition of Componex Nepcon show was held was at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi during 24th – 26th February 2009. The show was inaugurated by Dr. Abhishek Singhvi, Member of Parliament and Spokesperson, Indian National Congress, who was the Chief Guest, in the morning of 24th February 2009 in the presence of Mr. Jainder Singh, Secretary, Department of IT, Government of India, Mr. V.V.R Sastry, CMD, Bharat Electronics Limited, Mr. Om Wadhwa, CMD, JV Electronics, Mr. Satish Kaura, CMD, Samtel Ltd. and Mr. Mike Allsopp, CEO, Reed Exhibitions India.
This year, the exhibition’s theme being “NEW”, the focus of the exhibition was to offer new and better platforms to exhibitors, new innovations to the visitors, new opportunities for networking and business generation. Exhibitors from across the world came to New Delhi to avail this opportunity of mass business networking. Companies travelled across the globe from China, Taiwan, Germany, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Singapore, UK and US to name a few to participate in Componex Nepcon India 2009.
Apart from unveiling the latest technical know-how in the industry during its three day tenure, Componex Nepcon India 2009 also featured a high profile conference organized in association with ELCINA Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA), the “Knowledge & Exhibition Partner” of the show.
The theme of the conference “The growth opportunities in electronics manufacturing - The Road Ahead” had been crafted keeping in mind that India is the most favoured hub for the electronics manufacturing services industry. There were six sessions and the major topics of discussions included different sectors like hardware manufacturing zones, component sector, EMS Industry and strategic electronics etc. The third day witnessed a national conference on E-Waste and release of Report on E-Waste Management in India, jointly by ELCINA and Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt of India. Overall, the three day conference provided an ideal platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and building profitable networks.
The global SMT equipment manufacturers and its distributors were present in full strength at the show, but the notable absentee was Juki. Defying the market slow-down, a number of new SMT machines were launched at the show, prominent amongst them are Panasonic launching its new mounter NPM for India market, American Tec launched MINAMI MARK II fully automatic printer with super vision, Essemtec exhibited SP150 printer, Pantera XV and RO300FC-C for the first time in India, KIC launched new Reflow Process Inspection system and Sono-Tek Corporation displayed SonoFlux EZ ultrasonic reciprocating spray fluxing system best suited for the price sensitive Indian market. Bergen Associates presented ERSA, LPKF, Posalux, Schmoll & PARMI equipments, Bergen Systems displayed machines from its principals Mirae, SJ Innotech, Seho and Martin GmbH, NMTronics presented an array of SMT & board assembly machines and test solutions along with its group company iNETest Technologies India Pvt Ltd, TransTec presented Yamaha & Asymtek machines, Maxim SMT displayed cutting edge SMT products and many more at Componex Nepcon India 2009.
ELCINA Pavilion consisting of its members from the domestic electronic manufacturing industry was a major highlight of the show. Apart from Department of IT, Govt. of India who was the co-sponsor of the event, most Indian electronics industry associations namely like CEAMA, CLIK, TEMA, IMDA, ELIAP, IPCA, and SMTA supported the show.
In conclusion, despite the economic slowdown, Componex Nepcon India 2009 received a favourable response from both the exhibitors and visitors, with the number of visitor footfalls growing significantly over the last year.
