ViTrox, World’s Most Trusted Machine Vision Solutions for the semiconductor and electronics packaging industries, announced that it was awarded a 2021 Global Technology Award in the category of Robotic Handling System for its latest generation of V9i Advanced Robotic Vision (ARV) Inspection Solutions. The award was announced during an award ceremony at Productronica in Munich, Germany, on November 16, 2021.
“V9i is truly a highly flexible and accurate vision system that can simulate human abilities when it comes to final inspection and conformal coating. With the release of this edge vision technology to cater for the customers’ needs, I am confident that we will help the customer to address their pain point when adapting to Industry 4.0. This award comes as full amazement and honour to us. I would like to take this opportunity to demonstrate my greatest gratitude to the jury for selecting V9i Advanced Robotic Vision for this prestigious award. The greatest honour goes to the team who never give up on fulfilling the customer’s needs by offering solutions that meet or exceed their expectation,” quoted by Mr Wee Kah Khim, Executive Vice President of ViTrox.
Ooi Song Wah, Senior R&D Manager of ViTrox Automated Board Inspection (ABI) Division, commented: “This award recognises the hard work and dedication of engineers to overcome the challenges of implementing automated inspection solutions at the back end of the PCBA market. One of our goals is to effectively address this challenging territory that is still underserved.”
The latest generation of V9i ARV is a powerful equipment that has the capability to perform conformal coating and final inspection with common hardware. Integrating our award-winning technology with our dedicated hardware and software, V9i brings users the very best inspection experience to realise zero wastage in the early stage of production.
The breakthrough technologies of V9i ARV started with the patented all-in-one lighting design, which comprises motorised vari-angle UV and RGBW lighting for final inspection and conformal coating inspection. Apart from that, V9i ARV is mounted to a 6-axis collaborative robot to enable multi-angle inspection for printed circuit board (PCB) board size up to 510mm x 510mm. Additionally, V9i developed an advanced CAD-less smart learning capability with both machine learning and rule-based algorithms, which enables fast recipe set-up and comprehensive inspection coverage that includes foreign object detection as well as cosmetic defects on PCB surfaces. In a relatively complex Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), V9i could be 3 times faster than manual inspection.
